In this series of articles, Gene Schepker shares knowledge and experience with the skippers of the Carolinas.
In Gene's words: " I set this up because we have, in our immediate area, a lot of new
butterfliers who really find skippers a daunting identification problem.
I am not an expert but back up my work through Jeff Pippen who is. I
think of myself as a beginner still because I am constantly learning.
Self taught, I am slightly obsessed with learning the skippers, the
hardest identification problem in the Butterfly realm in the US. I put
myself in this position because none of the experts responded to my
plea to do a skipper class. This task, when I have time, is probably
more rewarding to me than to the recipients. It makes me work harder and
learn more."
Enjoy!
